It's A Winter Wonderland

It's A Winter Wonderland

I put together the background this set to make one feel winter. I carefully selected each picture and tried to really represent winter. Then I added four winter outfits. The "I Love My Pajamas" Outfit, featuring pajamas, glasses, and socks for a morning on the couch. The' Lets Lounge Around" Outfit featuring sweatpants, a comfy shirt, slippers, and a head band for when you change out of your pajamas because you feel its necessary, but aren't actually doing anything all day. The "Snow! Snow! Snow!" Outfit, featuring a down jacket, snow pants, snow boots, and mittens for all your favorite outdoor activities. And the "Winter Party" Outfit featuring a dress, tights, flats and a headband for all your holiday party needs.

And yes, sister, those are your pajamas in a different color with shorts instead of pants.

Quote of the Day

Quote of the Day

This is something I'm trying out. I have a  Polyvore account and I just realized that I can sync it to my blog. Unfortunately, it will post everything I put up there. I don't want that to happen, so I figured out that I can delete the posts after they happen. This means that there might be random images up here for like two seconds, but then they will be deleted. Just warning you!

It Doesn't Make Sense

The fact that nothing rhymes with orange came to my attention in kindergarten. My sister, the big, impressive fifth grader, teamed up with her friend to create a small book for a school project. The book was about us, the K-3 kindergarten class, discussing words that rhyme with orange. At the end of the book (which I remember being very long, but then again, I was five, so it was probably around 4 pages), my sister and her friend came into our classroom and shouted gleefully that nothing rhymed with orange. As uninformed kindergartners, we were awestruck by the incredible possibilities that there was a word that had no rhyme. But now, as a sixth grader, I question everything. It's an automatic reflex. "Why?" I ask.

Why does nothing rhyme with orange?

Sorry, let me rephrase that. I don't understand why people are obsessed with the fact that nothing rhymes with orange. So "orange" is a weird word with a weird sound, WHO CARES? There are plenty of other weird words.

"Sorry." Nothing rhymes with sorry. At least, nothing I can think of. But WHY in the world would anyone dare to use "nothing rhymes with sorry" as a metaphor, a saying, or a decisive shout?

I agree, that would be weird.

I guess there's no reason for me to rant about this except to experience the joy of radically typing angry words into Blogger, then deleting them and typing them again.

Ke$ha

At a press conference promoting her new watch collection, Ke$ha wore an interesting outfit(but I won't get into that), and an even more interesting piece of hand jewelry. I can say that the watch isn't horrific, but I have to restrain myself from even mentioning her eye makeup.

What even is it?! It's not a bracelet because it goes over her fingers, it's not a ring(or five) because it goes around her wrist. Maybe it's a torture device she has to wear until her songs leave the radio. Whatever it is, I think it was a bad idea. Not because it's weird(I mean, compared to the stuff she usually wears?), but because it takes away from the watch. If you look at the zoomed in picture, you're not paying attention to the watch, you're thinking what the heck is that thing on her hand, why are her nails like a messed up French manicure, and what happened to subtle eye shadow?!  You aren't thinking wow, what a beautiful watch. I need to go spend a lot of money so I can pay Ke$ha's bills.

I just went to look up how much the watch costs and GUESS WHAT? I don't that watch is even part of her collection!!!! Like, seriously Ke$ha? YOU DON'T WEAR A WATCH TO YOUR WATCH PRESS CONFERENCE IF ITS NOT YOUR WATCH!!!!!

And that hand jewelry still sucks.

Ready... Set... RED!

In my mind, every album has a color. Every color gives me a vibe. Thinking about the colors I have for Taylor Swift's albums, I realize that the colors I have are really similar to the colors of the cover album, but the feelings behind the colors are all me.

Taylor Swift: Light Blue/Turquoise and Light Green

Fearless: Yellow

Speak Now: Purple

The Taylor Swift and Fearless colors give me a more raw feel, which I guess is the feel for the albums too. Speak Now is more polished. You would think Red would give me a red feel, but so far it's still kind of purple, like Speak Now. But, I DEFINITELY like it better then Speak Now.

Some of the songs resemble Speak Now, but I've also found a lot are extremely similar to Taylor Swift. Some, like Stay Stay Stay, even have a Fearless vibe. But each has their own little spark of Red. And that's what Taylor Swift is. She started out great and she just kept building on that. Building and changing slightly. Still keeping that Taylor quality.

I think Red was the perfect next step. It makes sense for where she is in her career. It isn't too pop. It isn't too country. It's her own special blend.

Unbiasedly, I think it is a good album. If you like Taylor Swift for the most part in the past, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised that there are fun songs like We Are Never, but that isn't the whole album. If I was Ms. Swift, I would be proud to have this be my album, no matter how many million copies it sold.

Bowling Shoes: JSC

Today, I went bowling. Today, I sucked at bowling. Today, I discovered my new favorite shoes.

I think I was rocking them particularly well in my purple leggings and black graphic tee but it's impossible to not look good in them.
Am I really weird to want bowling shoes to wear normally? They are JUST SO CUTE. Can that be a new acronym? JSC? It stands for those pieces of clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, etc, that just make you smile. Plus, bowling shoes are GREAT for gettin' your snazzy dancing on.

What do you guys think? Are you as attracted to bowling shoes as I am? If not, what's your JSC? Tell me in comments!

I'm Thankful For...

the people who appreciate the little things that you appreciate, and if they don't appreciate the little things that you appreciate, they laugh at you and appreciate that you appreciate the little things you appreciate.

What are you thankful for?

More Rubix Cubing

Last time I posted about rubix cubing, I could do it in about four minutes. Now my best time is less then two minutes. I also know some cool formations which are in the second video.
The time was 2 minutes, 8.91 seconds. Sorry, I didn't realize until after I shot the video that you couldn't read the phone.

Those are just some cool stuff I like to do.

What's Up with "Politics"?

Everyday I climb into the front seat in my mom or dad's cars. I buckle my seat belt and we drive away. I lean forward to turn on the radio. I press setting five to turn on the local pop station I always listen to. In the last couple months, more often then not, what I hear makes me want to (and sometimes causes my mom to) turn the radio off.

I'm talking about political adds.

I turn the radio on and I hear Mitt Romney saying that he supports A and has voted for it and that Obama hates A and has voted for B. Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Swift have the floor for the next few minutes. Then it goes to Obama. He apparently thinks B is stupid and unlike Romney has voted against that and for A. If I was an uninformed voter, I'd be confused.

I'd like to start with the fact that it's a teen radio station. Can we vote? No. Do we have that much, if any, say in what our parents vote? No. Are our parents listening while they drive us instead of tuning all this idiotic music out? Most likely no. So why advertise to a tween radio? I'd leave this advertising to NPR.

Another thing that bugs me is the fact that one, or both, of them have got to be blatantly lying. As I said before, they are saying the exact opposite of each other. The same is true for the debates. This time it's within seconds of each other that you hear the presidential candidates, people you want be able to trust, telling you tons of stuff that can't possibly be true. If I was old enough to vote and undecided, I'd scoot on over to my computer and figure out, from unbiased sources, what's what.

The thing that annoys me the most is something most people don't think of.

We have people out there who's careers lead them to do incredible things and yet these people, with a so-called interest in politics, have decided to devote their time to creating things to trash talk people. Some of these people are in fact, corrupt. But do we ever think about the small chance that maybe, just maybe, there might actually be some morally good people whose children have to listen to the radio, watch TV, or even play on the computer, and here awful people saying terrible things about their mommy or daddy? No, we don't.

Cirque Du Soleil

I saw Cirque Du Soleil yesterday. Almost the whole time my face was like this,

or this,

or this.

First lets talk costumes. Almost all the people doing crazy acrobats were in body suits, which were cool. But what amazed me the most were the chorus peoples costumes and makeup. They looked like people out of the capitol.

I love one girl's costume in particular. She was dressed all in pink and yellow-orange. Her hair was in yellow-orange curls piled on top of her head, around one foot high. Her dress was like a hoop skirt, it poofed out a lot, but it only went to just below her butt. I'm pretty sure it was made with wire.

Now about the actual show. My favorite parts were the ones where people swung around the stage hanging on ropes or other contraptions. There's not much to say, the whole thing was just like WOW.

WOW

Hurricane Sandy and Pitch Perfect

What has two thumbs and no school?! This girl! (Points at herself using thumbs.) Thank you Sandy!

That's right-HURRICANE DAY! My friend G are currently listening to Hurricane Sandy music. Can you say Rock You Like a Hurricane and Sandy? It's pitch perfect!

Which, conveniently, brings us to our next topic! G, our moms, and I saw Pitch Perfect last night! OMG, it was SOOOO good!! (I ate my twin in the womb!;) ) Although I could've done without the throw up, it was still an incredible movie! I love Fat Amy/Patricia!

PS:Red review is coming!

Rubix Cube!!! (Yes I Know It's "Rubik's" Cube, But Rubix Cube Looks and Sounds Better, Plus The X is Crossed, So It's Like a Rubix Cube, So I'm Gonna Call it a Rubix Cube!)

I can solve a rubix cube! I watched a video on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsQIoPyfQzM, it's SUPER helpful- if you wanna learn, you should watch it!) and solved my rubix cube for the first time ever by doing it along with the video! I did it a couple more times and soon I could remember one or two of the algorithms! That was yesterday, and by this morning I only need to check the video for one algorithms, by right now I can do this-

5 MINUTES 11.93 SECONDS LATER...

DSW+Old Navy

A couple weeks ago I went to this strip mall-ish place on a hunt for nice flats and sweaters. The result was this-

DSW-One Pair of Flats

OLD NAVY-Two Sweaters

All in all, I think it was a success.

Ok, so I'm trying to post a lot now to make up for those 2 months, but I don't know what to post. I know I have a post from a while ago that asks what you guys want me to post so I can check that but if there's anything else you want, just tell me in comments. I know I'll have some Halloween posts coming up and maybe a review of Taylor Swift's new album(5 DAYS, 11 HOURS, 32 MINUTES, AND 46 SECONDS!)? Anyway, just tell me what you want and I'll try to do it!

Two Months, One Post, What Could Go Wrong?

Hehe, hehe, it's not like I haven't blogged in 60 days, hehe...
Yeah, sorry about that guys...I'm here now!
And I'm about to give two months worth of happenings in one post! I'm warning you all that this post is gonna be in no particular order, just what comes to my head! So, let's go...
Red comes out in 6 days, 9 hours, 40 minutes, and 21 seconds, 20 seconds, 19 seconds... Maybe I should stop? Anyways, it comes out soon! And guess who's getting it?! That's right-the girl who hung up her towel 20 times!!! (Sticker-Charts-Aren't-Just-For-Six-Year-Olds!) Ok so WANEGBT definitely grew on me-I love it, but the whole I'm-gonna-release-a-single-every-week-until-the-album-comes-out is really annoying, like are they even singles? Still, I know every word to Begin Again, almost every word to Red, and the couple times I've heard I Knew You Were Trouble, I've liked it.
I'm in middle school now and I love it! Some major trends at my middle school...
GIRLS

BOYS

I LOVE Everybody Talks, Some Nights, and Want U Back.
Sorry Liam-ers but Louis's my new favorite. DID YOU SEE HIM AT THE VMA'S?!

OK, that's all I can think of. What happened to you in those two months? Tell me in cupcakes. I mean comments. Why did I say cupcakes? I mean cupcakes would be nice...

E's Quotes... Taylor... 60s Outfit

"If I was in an 80s band, I'd wanna forget that period of my life." E on Madness in the Olympic Closing Ceremonies.

"It sounds like it should be a catchy pop song I like by some Swedish artist I've never heard of." E on...

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is Taylor Swifts new single off her album Red which comes out on October 22!!!!!

My first thought was disgust. It's such a pop song and her album cover looks like this should be a more country album. Or at least heading in that direction. Instead this song sounds like a..."catchy pop song I like by some Swedish artist I've never heard of." I mean I still really like it(I've been listening to it on repeat all afternoon!) but she's been doing such grownup music with Both of Us, and this just doesn't seem Taylor-y. I'm still so excited and have lots of hope for her new album!
Today I'm wearing a kind of sixties-inspired outfit that I really like, so I thought I'd show you it.

PS:As you can tell, I'm back! I got back on Sunday, on Tuesday we went to Maine and just got back today, so I have an excuse!!

Dance Moms(The Whole Post-Sorry About Before!)

A reality show I'm obsessed with(like 3-5 episodes a day obsessed!), Dance Moms first came into my view at the Madonna Inn in California. I'd heard my friends talking about it at school once or twice and assumed it was an American Idol-esque show where they teach moms to dance. Who on Earth would find that entertaining?!

When I went back to my room at the Madonna Inn I was channel-surfing. They didn't have Disney or any of my usual channels so I settled on Dance Moms. Lo and behold, Dance Moms was actually about the dance(stage) moms of the ages 7-13 dancers on Abby Lee Dance Company(ALDC's competition team. Abby Lee Miller is the dance teacher. Abby Lee Miller is the mean dance teacher. Abby Lee Miller is the meanest dance teacher ever to walk or dance the face of this earth. She's eviiiil!

On today's episodes:

Christi(mother of Chloe and a two year old) had a breakdown at the studio.

Kelly(mother of Brooke and Paige) invited Leslie(mother of Peyton and only sometimes on the show) to her birthday party resulting in a cat fight and Christi kicking Leslie out of Kelly's house and then breaking down. Again.

Christi and Holly(mother of Nia) complained to Abby that the dance and costumes were inappropriate.

Cathy(mother of Vivi and owner of ALDC's rivals Candy Apples) went back to her own studio.

Jill(mother of Kendall and ex-ALDC dance mom) became also an ex-Candy Apples dance mom.

And then there's Melissa(mother of Maddie and Mackenzie).

Oh, Dance Moms.

4th of July Fashion

I know it's a little late, it's what? The 10th of July? But I still want to write this post about the 4th of July. My family went to see the fireworks and... it's a long story. But anyway, as we walked around and stuff me and my sister, M, commented about the fashion.

I didn't take a picture of what me or my sister wore so I'll describe our outfits.
Me: Jean shorts rolled up, a thick ribbed tank top that I thought was red but was actually pink(but I like that since it's kind of a play on red, white, and blue!), a blue and white gingham shirt(not like Dorothy, like BIG gingham) buttoned and tied, and my FAVE shoes(my Payless wedges!).
Mara: A red headband made out of a strip of fabric from her prom dress, a blue and white striped shirt, jean shorts and her neon blue and green Nike Frees. Other then the shoes she had one of the classic looks.

Another CLASSIC look is jean shorts and a red and white striped shirt. I also saw people in just red and white or just blue and white which I think is totally fine and a cool way of embracing the nautical look which is very American. I saw girls in dresses that were two out of three colors and an accessory that was the other color. A SUPER preppy shirt I saw was red and white stripes with a blue anchor!

My favorite look: A white lace shirt, a red tank top, and jean shorts.

What is your favorite 4th of July look? It can be what you wore, what you saw someone else wearing, a look you just dreamed up in your mind, etc. Tell me in comments below!

PS: My phone case came! This is a picture I found on the web, but it is my case!

PPS: Here's a really good book review my cousin wrote on her blog: http://teenbookshelf.blogspot.com/2012/07/twilight-i-know-i-know-twilight.html!

My NEW Goal in Life

I know what your thinking. She didn't tell us her old goal in life? Didn't she just finish fifth grade? Isn't that a little too young to figure out your goal in life? I'm right. Isn't that what your thinking? Well, I'll tell you my old goals in life in a minute. This is my current goal in life. It's never to young to know what you wanna be when you grow up. And yes, that is what you're thinking.

At first I wanted to be a teacher. That was up until like last year. I still kinda want to be a teacher. Or, I want to teach, I don't want to be a teacher. Then I wanted to be a writer. I still kinda do. Well, again, I want to write, not be a writer. Ok, so then I wanted to be a fashion designer. I don't anymore. A fashion stylist would be cool. Or maybe a fashion blogger, but not a fashion designer.

So now I want to be a candy maker and have a candy store. Not a candy store that has Kit Kats or Tootsie Rolls or candy that they buy- I'm going to make old fashioned candy. Before that I going to live in Paris to study the art of making chocolate and other candies then I'm going to move home, maybe work in some other stores and then open my own. Its going to have one kind of ice cream, CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH!!! It's chocolate ice cream with cookie dough in it. I know it doesn't fit the candy store vibe but I've dreamed about this ice cream for years and never, never have I seen it anywhere!

So that's my goal!

I'm Sorry

Hey guys. I'm SO sorry I haven't posted!!!! I don't really have an excuse. I mean, I could tell you its the end of school's fault. Or I could say I've been really busy(a lie). Because, other then going to Vermont for a week with my friend L, I've done nothing. And this is only since school let out. I don't what my excuse for not posting between May 26 to mid-June is. So in short, I don't have an excuse.

It's not that I haven't thought about posting. I've had a million ideas for a post and written half of them in my head. It's that I'm too lazy to post. I'm deeply, truly sorry. And I mean it when I say I am going to try to post everyday even though we all know that's not going to happen. I just figure that if I try to post every other day, I'll probably end up posting about once a week.

Now that I've gotten started I actually really like posting. It's fun just writing what comes to your head. (You're very lucky I don't put everything that comes into my head or there would be no focus at all.

So anyway, today I'm going to write posts for a bunch of those random ideas that came to my head while I wasn't blogging.

It's the 6th of July! A year ago today I was sitting on comfy chairs and failing to climb the Eiffel Tower. That's right! I was in Paris! Also, in May was the two year anniversary of my blog! HAPPY BIRTHDAY E'S WORLD!!!!

So I had this great idea to take a picture of what I wore each day and then post a blog post with a week in outfits. But I kinda slacked off, so really it's just a couple of outfits. I'll do what I did two posts ago, where I list what I'm wearing underneath the photo and I'll also try to tell you where I got it.

Rambling...

So, drum roll please! The winner from last post is outfit number three!!!! I love that outfit, although my favorite is the one no one voted for, outfit two!

I hope you guys like my new design! I just made a few changes to the background to make it look more grownup and also more fashion-y!

Speaking of which, I've decided to make my blog more fashion focused, but don't worry I'll still be posting about my life and opinions and stuff too!

My new goal in life is to be a candy maker. More on that in another post!

My dream.  I had an insane dream. Me and this boy in my class are on a giant ball made out of legos hurtling through space. Since we're in outer space we keep throwing books in the air and they disappear. Then fat Japanese guys drop giant sushi on us.

PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK MY DREAM MEANS IN COMMENTS!

Black Lace

So yesterday I went to a town dance for all the fifth graders in my town and I noticed a lot of black lace shirts over white. I liked the way they look, so I'm gonna create like three outfits that use black lace shirts and have you guys vote on which you like best.

Outfit One:

A black flower lace long sleeve shirt over a white tank top, a tan skirt, and blue peep toe flats. For jewelry, a gold necklace.

Outfit Two:

A black lace top over a green tank top, a brown skirt, and black and white oxfords. For jewelry, gold drop earrings and gold and brown bangles.

Outfit Three:

This one is actually a black lace dress with brown/tan sandals and pearls.

Vote on which one you like best in a comment below and next post I'll announce the winner and tell you my favorite!
